Noah M. Johnson represents clients facing a wide variety of criminal charges and family law disputes, as well as in other fields of law, including expungements of criminal records, civil forfeitures, driver’s license issues, and wills and estate matters. He is a licensed attorney in the State of Minnesota and the federal District of Minnesota.

Throughout his life, Noah has been passionate about justice, causing a lifelong fascination with history and politics. This led him to a position as a law clerk at Koch & Garvis, LLC, where he gained valuable experience under the tutelage of respected attorneys Andrew S. Garvis and the late Richard F. Koch, working with clients and helping them navigate the complexities of the law while absorbing the details of legal precedent and procedure. Following his admission to the bar of the State of Minnesota, he joined Andrew Garvis in his Uptown Minneapolis practice of law.

Noah is a lifelong resident of Minnesota. He was born in Burnsville and raised in the Robbinsdale and North Minneapolis area, and graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in New Hope. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a philosophy minor from the University of Minnesota, and his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. During law school, he lived for a time in London, United Kingdom, where he was able to gain an understanding of international legal issues.

A dedicated defender of the accused, Noah is a member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and serves as the seniormost assistant public defender for adult criminal cases in Scott County, where he represents indigent clients facing complex felony criminal proceedings. He was also a 2018 candidate for Attorney General of Minnesota, running on a platform of cannabis legalization and progressive policies, which he sees as essential to the spirit of the notions of liberty and justice upon which the United States was founded. In that capacity, he prominently convinced his opponent to endorse full legalization of cannabis and restorative justice for those with cannabis convictions, doing his part along with countless other activists to pave the way for the 2023 legalization of cannabis in Minnesota.

For the past several years, Noah has been named a Rising Star by Minnesota Super Lawyers magazine, recognizing his ambition and skill in advocating for his clients.
